Guide To Eldora – The format
Eldora’s qualifying and race formats differ from the knockout qualifying seen weekly in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series.
Here’s how it works:-LRB-***)
— At Eldora, a random draw determines the qualifying order for two-lap, single-truck qualifying that determines the starting positions for the qualifying races (five races in total). The Keystone Light Pole Award is earned by the qualifier.
— Each of the five qualifying races consist of 10 laps, with just green-flag laps counting. The five trucks in the qualifying will start on the pole for their races. The lineups for the qualifying races are filled based on qualifying speeds (sixth competes in the first qualifying race, seventh in the second, eighth in the third, etc.)
— The top five trucks from each qualifying race will transfer to the feature race. Upon completion of the qualifying races, 25 trucks will earn spots in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
— Once the five qualifying races have been finished, there’ll be a last-chance qualifying race. The lineup is going to be dependent upon completing position in the qualifying races, along with the race will be 15 laps with just green flag laps counting. The top two finishers transfer to the race, where they will start in positions 26-27.
— The 28th-31st starting positions visit the highest-ranking eligible trucks in owner points that have not already earned a starting position through qualifying.
— The 32nd starting position goes to the latest eligible past series champion; if that position isn’t filled through an eligible champion, it is going to be assigned based upon owner points.
— The race will be 150 laps broken up into three stages. Caution laps at the conclusion of stages won’t count and positions cannot be improved on pit road.
— Teams aren’t required to pit during the competition cautions. Those teams which don’t elect to pit may remain on the track and begin in the front of the teams that are pitting.

There are also benefits to supercharged applications where a decrease in high cylinder pressures and exhaust temperatures may help slash fuel consumption during high-load, or high-boost events.
Theoretically, Ford could implement this technology up and down its lineup with simple tweaks to the ECU’s value lookup table — efficiency oriented parameters for regular offerings of the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Taurus, Escape, Edge, Explorer, and F-150; while more aggressive maps are used for Raptors, Mustangs, and other hot EcoBoost offerings.
Additionally, differences in secondary fluid could provide even more distinction between several kinds of applications. Ford envisions some embodiments of its system will generate their fluid by capturing A/C condensate, intercooler and exhaust, or even rainwater, though a mix could be used by other applications.
Ford of Europe has been hard at work on this pollutant reducing and mileage maximizing system since at least January 2016, seemingly as a reply to the demonization of diesel in the Old World.
